Kate is a geophysicist located at the USGS Geologic Hazards Science Center in Golden, CO. Kate’s interested in using seismic waves to study landslides, earthquakes, and volcanoes. Kate co-founded GeoGirls when she was a National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellow at the USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory. The idea was based on her passion for geology, the mentors that made a difference in her life, and the hope to mentor and inspire the next generation of women researchers!
