Alisa is a second year doctoral student studying Igneous Petrology at Oregon State University. Her research focuses on examining minerals under the microscope from volcanoes at the bottom of the ocean to better understand their emplacement and eruptive histories. Not only do these minerals tell an interesting tale of their path through the oceanic crust, they also look enchanting when viewed through the scope! Outside of her graduate work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, and playing sports.
