Amy has been a math and science teacher for 15 years in Washington State. During that time, she has worked on native plant restoration projects locally and in partnership with JBLM and has flown student research aboard NASA's Weightless Wonder. Amy has a forestry and soils background and is fascinated by northwest geological processes; she is a geology nerd. She is a nationally credentialed science teacher, loves to teach science, and dutifully composts anything she can get away with placing in the pile of decomposition loveliness. She can be found hiking, gardening or riding her bike when she isn't gleefully turning her compost pile or recycling plastic grocery bags.
