Gina joined the Mount St. Helens Institute education team in 2019. Her curiosity for earth science was fostered in Rhode Island where she grew up exploring the wetlands and coastline and learning about the local geology. Gina’s passion for field-based education led her across the country, where she worked as a naturalist and educator in the Colorado Plateau, Snake River Plain, and Klamath-Siskiyou mountains. She received a Masters in Education from Western Washington University in a joint program with The North Cascades Institute. Gina’s unbridled passion for science education, wealth of knowledge about geology and ecology, make her a stellar fit in her role as the Youth Education & Rental Programs Manager.
When Gina’s not at work, you’ll most often find her in wild places, cavorting with birds, foraging native foods, and leading her friends on grand adventures.
