Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Rae’s love of mountain adventures led them to the beautiful Pacific Northwest in 2017. Since then, they have spent time working with the plants of the Cascades near Lake Chelan, with the enthusiastic visitors, foragers, mountaineers, and hot spring soakers in the Sol Duc Valley of Olympic National Park, and with the inspiring and prolific mycelial network on a commercial mushroom farm outside of Olympia, WA. Outside of work, they have a tendency to run far distances through rugged mountain terrain and eat as many wild berries as a bear. Rae’s curious mind and wonder at the natural world drives them to wander the trails and ask questions of their field guides, knowledgeable friends and peers, and perhaps even a tree on occasion. When not adventuring outdoors, Rae is probably on a dance floor.
