Darvel Lloyd

Darvel grew up on a ranch at the base of Mt. Adams in Washington. There he developed a life-long passion for mountaineering, Pacific Rim volcanoes, the geosciences and photography. He holds a master’s degree in physical geography, has taught at the college level, and has led all-season mountain natural history hikes for 45 years. Although not a superb professional photographer like his twin brother, he enjoys snapping pictures and creating digital images. Darvel lives in Portland, Ore. and volunteers as an advocate for the elderly. He’s also active in environmental causes and hikes as much as possible.
