Instructor Bios

Alan Kearney

Alan Kearney grew up in Vancouver, Washington, attended Clark College and later graduated from WSU in Pullman.  He began climbing and skiing as a kid, and started shooting photographs of his adventures while in college.  After guiding and teaching climbing for 15 years in Bellingham, Washington, he transitioned into photography and writing full time. He has published three books: Mountaineering in Patagonia, Classic Climbs of the Northwest and Color Hiking Guide to Mount Rainier. Please visit his website for more information.
