Volunteer at Mount St. Helens

Mount St. Helens is a national treasure. Come join the Mount St. Helens Institute in our efforts to keep the volcano in our backyard safe, clean, and enjoyable for all.

Conservation Corps

Join the trail work team for a one day event or as a season long trail crew leader. Or request your own group volunteer event.

Mountain Stewards

Support the mission of the Mount St. Helens Institute and the Monument by assisting climbers on the climbing route, Mount Margaret Backcountry, supporting guided climbs and field seminars, and helping with trail surveys. Click here for more information.

International Volunteers

International Volunteers

Visit and volunteer one of the world’s most famous volcanoes.  Two international volunteer applications are accepted per year and are required to serve a minimum of 2 months full time service. International applicants must apply nine or more months in advance.
