The Mount St. Helens Institute has a variety of opportunties for students, including service projects, Internships and more.
Currently seeking 2010 college interns:
Conservation Internship- Assist with the plan and implementation of volunteer trail work parties throughout the summer.
Environmental Education Internship- Act as a leader and as a support staff for environmental education programs at Mount St. Helens Institute.
Field Internship- Assist with scientific research and the long-term ecological study of Mount St. Helens.
Recreation Internship - Lead and support recreation events held by the Mount St. Helens Institute.
Volcano Volunteer Internship- Share the story of Mount St. Helens with the visiting public at visitors centers around the volcano.
Laboratory Internship: Ongoing short term positions (4-16 hours per week over one or several semesters). Assist with identification, measuring, labeling and archive amphibian voucher specimens. Also may assist with maintaining and repairing biological sampling equipment. Benefits: college credit.
