Need to buy or sell permits?
The Mount St. Helens Institute follows Forest Service rules and limits the number of climbing to 100 per day. Unfortunately, this prevents some last-minute climbers from obtaining permits. Further, we do not provide refunds or exchanges so permits often go unused. We want to support you in your efforts to climb Mount St. Helens so here is some information you may find useful:
1. Permits are transferrable. You may transfer your permit to anyone else. You may sell the permit for no more than the price you paid ($22.00)
2. If you transfer your permit to someone else, please provice that person with a copy of your receipt and a written note indicating you wish to transfer all or some of your permits.
3. If you need permits for a sold out day or cannot go on a climb you planned or have extra permits for sale, please post your information at the Cascade Climber's Climbing Board.
We hope this system helps you. Questions? Please contact us at: Climb@mshinstitute.org.
