2010 Sunday Snowshoe Adventures
Come discover the surprises that winter brings on our Sunday Snowshoe Adventures. Explore the trails of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, stay fit through the winter months and meet new friends.
Participants will accompany staff and volunteers who will supply you with fascinating interpretive information throughout the snowshoe trip.
Families are welcome. All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.Please bring appropriate gear for snowshoeing. Snowshoes are not provided.
Snowshoe trips are $10 per person. Each trip is limited to 20 people. For more information about any or all of these events, call us at (360)449-7883.
January 24, 2010- June Lake Snowshoe Adventure Register
Length: 5 miles (Easy)
Description: Follow snow covered lava flows to a cascading waterfall and a
towering white volcano. Many surprises await you beside the beauty of June Lake.
February 7, 2010- Red Rock Pass Snowshoe Adventure Register
Length: 5 miles (Easy)
Description: This groomed road meanders through majestic green forests, and 1980 mudflows. You will be rewarded with great views of Mount St Helens.
February 21, 2010: Ape Cave Snowshoe Adventure Register
Length: 3.5 miles + cave walking (Moderate)
Description: Meander from the Trail of Two Forests to the Ape Cave exploring the forest, bring your flashlight and we will stop for a spell in the cave.
March 7, 2010: Oldman Pass Snowshoe Adventure Register
Length: 5.7 miles (Moderate)
Description: A trail for the more experienced, this trail meanders through forest, meadows and features views of Mt. Adams.
March 21, 2010: Trapper Creek Snowshoe Adventure Register
Length: 5.6 miles (Difficult)
Description: Climb up through an ancient Douglas Fir and Hemlock forest. You will be rewarded with a view of Mt Adams at the top.
