Completing this brief form will help us best prepare for and coordinate each event.
Pre-registration is not required and last-minute volunteers are welcome to show up and register on the morning of each event. An RSVP is a great help when we prepare the days tools and supplies. You will be guaranteed to receive a NW Forest Day pass on the day of the event

April 25th, National Youth Day- Sunset Falls Campground
May 2nd, Join Hands Day with Washington Trails Association -Hummocks Trail #229 & #1
May 9th, Ape Cave/ Trail of Two Forests
May 23th, CANCELLED PLEASE STAYED TUNED FOR THE RESCHEDULED DATE----Weed Rodeo: Coldwater or lower Toutle invasives removal day
June 13th, National Trails Day- Scout various trails for 2009 Season
July 11, Friends of The Gorge day- Indian Pits # 180E Eds trail #180A
July 18-19, Butte Camp Backpack with PUMP, Toutle #238 & 238A
July 25-August 2nd, Norway or Independence Pass between Bear Pass and Grizzly Lake if time Boundry #1 or Lakes #211.
There are three time committment options at this work party. Sign up for the entire week, between July 25-July 27 or July 29-August 2nd
August 15-16th, Trails with WTA- Boundary trail #1 JRO to Hummocks
August 29-30th, Lakes Trail and South Coldwater (boat trip)
September 12th, Friends of the Gorge day TBA
September 26th, National Public Lands Day
October 17th, End of Season tool party

2008 Past work parties:
Saturday, May 31, 2008: Go Ape for Trails Week at Mount St. Helens
The Trail of Two Forest and the entrance to the Ape Cave are now clear of snow and most debris, thanks to the efforts of our over 35 volunteers on Saturday. Thank you to all who helped in making this event a success!Saturday, June 21, 2008: Summer Solstice Lewis River Trail Spectacular. Volunteers had a great time tending the Curly and Big Creek Falls Trails. Thank you to the many volunteers who helped to enhance over four miles of multi use trails.
Saturday, June 28, 2008: 3rd Annual Mount St. Helens Weed Rodeo. YEE HAA we had a rip roaring time at the 3rd annual weed rodeo. Thank you to the 24 volunteers who spent a sun dredged day pulling scotchbroom at Mount St. Helens.

Saturday, July 12: Mid-Summer Volcano Work Party. Camp with us and attend a hike on the 13th into the Blast Zone just for volunteers!
28 MSHI volunteers worked on over 6 miles of trail north of the volcano. Folks ate, laughed and learned during the potluck and the next day during the geologist led hike through the blast zone.
Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3, 2008: Friends of the Forest Weekend
30 volunteers met on Saturday and Sunday at Coldwater Lake to be part of the Friends of the Forest Weeekend trail maintenance events. Volunteers worked on the South Coldwater, Lakes and Boundary Trails. Volunteers camped out and participated in the Star party field seminar with The Vancouver Side Walk Astronomers.
Monday, August 11, 2008: Volcanic Trails Work Party
Families and friends from all over the country came out to maintain the trail to Ghost Lake. Many volunteers camped under the stars, roasted smores and watched the Perseids meteor shower.
Saturday, September 27, 2008: National Public Lands Day
Join the Mount St. Helens Institute and partners as we prepare trails south of the the volcano near the Marble Mountain Snow park. Volunteers should bring work gloves and arrive at the parking lot of Marble Mountain Snow park at 10:00am work will continue until 4:00pm. Following the work party there will be a barbecue and potluck dinner.
