At the Mount St. Helens Institute, we value your support and are committed to protecting your privacy. Our site is a safe environment for anyone who signs up for membership, to volunteer, to make a donation, or to participate in a Mount St. Helens Institute activity.

We collect personal information from you only when it is specifically and knowingly provided by you. When you make a donation online, we ask for your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and credit card information. When you sign up to volunteer or receive our email newsletters we collect names, email addresses, and topics of interest if indicated. When you sign up to climb Mount St. Helens or to participate in a field seminar this is done through a contracted third party. The contractor asks for your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and credit card information.

Mount St. Helens Institute partners and contracts with third-party service providers to host our web site and other online services. Third-party service providers are not permitted to use or share any personally identifiable information that we provide to them. Mount St. Helens Institute does not share any of the personally identifiable information we collect with other outside parties, unless we have received your permission to do so.
It is our policy not to sell, trade, or rent your personal information to anyone without your advance permission. We will not share your personal information with any third party, except to contracted service providers acting on our behalf or unless ordered to do so by a court of law.
